Preskar Museum Visit & Trnič Cheese-Making Demonstration

Step inside the oldest hut on Velika Planina – the Preskar Hut – where time slows down.
Built in 1945 on the ruins left by the war, today it serves as a museum that faithfully preserves the image of traditional shepherd life. Enter and feel the spirit of the past, the scent of wood, and the silence that once accompanied the shepherds. Discover the story of trnič – the unique cheese once gifted by shepherds as a symbol of love – and watch a live demonstration of how it’s made.

The museum is open daily during the grazing season, from June 1st to September 15th.
Opening hours: 10 AM to 3 PM.
The trnič cheese-making demonstration takes place every day at 1 PM.
